EXPERIENCE

Jim’s client service experience ranges across several industries, with primarily privately held, entrepreneurial companies. In addition to providing audit, review and compilation services and tax compliance and consulting services, he provides business consulting, family financial planning, litigation support, business valuation, taxpayer representation and forensic accounting services.

Effective July 1, 2009, Jim is the firm’s Managing Principal.

PERSONAL DATA

Jim was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and grew up there. He graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids in 1987 with a BS Degree in Accounting.

Jim and his wife, Lorraine live in Paw Paw, Michigan with their four children, Jessalyn, Josiah, Micah and Isaac. Jim enjoys golfing and spending time with his family at their Lake Michigan condo.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Jim’s family is deeply involved in their church.

Jim’s family is deeply involved in their church, the Third Christian Reformed Church in Kalamazoo, for which Jim is an officer. Jim’s other community service includes being past Treasurer of Loaves and Fishes, a member of the Kalamazoo YMCA Finance Committee, and a board member of Friendship Village. Jim is also the past President of the board of Ministry with Community.

PROFESSIONAL

Jim is a member of the AICPA and MACPA, and has an active CPA license in Michigan. He is also a member of the MACPA Professional Education Committee.
