JANSEN VALK THOMPSON & REAHM PC is a progressive accounting firm which was established in 1994. Since that time the firm has grown to become one of the largest local firms in Kalamazoo, Michigan. We are proud of the level of expertise and experience our firm has to offer.

JANSEN VALK THOMPSON & REAHM PC spun-off from Ernst &Young LLP on August 1, 1994. As part of that spin-off, E&Y transferred the opportunity to serve certain clients to Bob Jansen, then a partner with the E&Y firm. Bob started the firm with a core of experienced E&Y professionals who joined him as part of the spin-off.

In 1994, the firm’s founding Principals included CPAs Robert L. Jansen and James R. Valk. In October 1998, Nancy L. Thompson, CPA joined the firm and in September 2000 Richard C. Reahm, CPA joined the firm, both as Principals.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Principals and staff of JVTR believe in community service and consistently assume leadership roles in local organizations. These organizations include United Way, Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Family and Children Services, YMCA, Ministry with Community, Pretty Lake Vacation Camp, local churches and others. In addition, the firm has had a representative on the Western Michigan University Department of Accounting Advisory Council since its inception in the mid 90s. Annually, the firm participates in the local Adopt-a-Family program by purchasing holiday gifts for children who would otherwise go without.

In addition to these activities, JVTR sponsors an annual WMU scholarship for a needy student who shows academic promise in the accounting curriculum.

Our previous peer reviews were similarly unqualified and were completed for the years ended August 31, 1995, 1998, 2001 and 2004.

We are located just West of Hwy 131 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on the South side of Stadium Drive, less than a mile West of 9th Street in Oshtemo, Michigan.

From the North and South

Exit North or South bound Hwy 131 at the Stadium Drive exit (36B) and take Stadium Drive West for about 2 miles to the JVTR office on the South side of the road: 7171 Stadium Drive.

From the East

Exit West bound Hwy 94 at the exit to North bound Hwy 131 (74B Grand Rapids). Exit North bound Hwy 131 at the Stadium Drive exit (36B) and take Stadium Drive West for about 2 miles to the JVTR office on the South side of the road: 7171 Stadium Drive.

Exit West bound Hwy 94 at the 9th Street Oshtemo exit (72). At the light, turn right (North) and take 9th Street for about 2 miles North to Stadium Drive. Turn left (West) on Stadium Drive for less than a mile to the JVTR office on the South side of the road: 7171 Stadium Drive.

From the West
